Zara Anjum
Zara Anjum a very dynamic and young researcher joined Clinical Trials Unit in April 2023 at RMI. Zara Anjum's journey as a Senior Clinical Research Associate at RMI Clinical Trials Unit is associated with a career ride from circuits to clinical research. She is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from Air University Islamabad, having a vast experience in the area of clinical research from Shifa International Hospital Islamabad, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences Islamabad and Maroof International Hospital Islamabad.
Being a researcher, I consider patient safety as a prior responsibility for the conduct of clinical trials. My opinion totally aligns with that of the patient centric approach of Clinical Trials Unit at RMI. This is one of the reasons I joined RMI. Apart from this, driven by a desire to share the wealth of my expertise, I transitioned from Islamabad, a stronghold of clinical research, to Peshawar, where this discipline was just taking root. Peshawar’s Clinical Trials Unit at RMI stands as the pioneering DRAP-registered unit in the region, beckoning researchers of KPK to a world of untapped opportunities.
Being a Senior Clinical Research Associate I am responsible for closely monitoring the overall trials being conducted at Clinical Trials Unit. My roles and responsibilities includes to maintain Quality control, overview the Budgeting of upcoming trials, and Training of the junior site-staff. Apart from this I am also involved in Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of case report forms (medical records and other patient data), making a Liaison with doctors and other professionals throughout the study, Ensuring the protection of study participants by verifying informed consent procedures and ensuring side effects or adverse reactions by keeping its proper documentation.
