Meet Our Team
Dr Ania Hufsa
Dr Aania Hufsa (RPh) is working as a Senior Clinical Research Associate since April 2023 at Rehman Medical Institute. She has completed her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2016, from University of Peshawar. She is a pharmacist by profession and has a rich experience of clinical research in Pakistan. She worked previously in Shifa Clinical Research Center at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad where she gained immense experience in different clinical trials.
As a dedicated researcher, prioritizing patient safety remains my utmost concern throughout the course of clinical trials. This viewpoint aligns seamlessly with the patient-centric approach upheld by the Clinical Trials Unit at RMI, which played a pivotal role in my decision to join this institution. One of my primary motivations was the unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being of patients. Moreover, fueled by a strong desire to share the wealth of my expertise, I embarked on a transition from Islamabad, a well-established hub of clinical research, to Peshawar, where the field was just beginning to take root. In this journey, I found myself drawn to the Clinical Trials Unit at RMI in Peshawar, a pioneering entity that stands as the first DRAP-registered unit in the region. This unit has not only brought a world of untapped opportunities but also serves as a beacon, inviting researchers from KPK to contribute to the exciting realm of clinical research.
I collaborate with investigators to ensure accurate comprehension and implementation of study procedures, and proper recruitment of participants. I oversee documentation for accuracy, verify clinical trial data, maintain data integrity, and assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documents. I help to educate junior staff on protocols, identify challenges and obstacles in study execution, and implement effective solutions. I ensure timely reporting of Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) in clinical trials and maintain and assure quality from feasibility to closeout. Additionally, I am involved in budgeting for trials in the pipeline.
